Christmas Daily by Sue Smyth

With the Christmas season upon us, it is a really nice thing to record our
daily preparations, memories of the past and traditions that we have each and ever year.

If you are like me and time poor, make the cover of this mixed media book up
in advance and just slip the pages in as needed when you do them.

I have made this sturdy mixed media book from an old Readers Digest book.
Add lots of glimmer mists and glitter along with a few bits n pieces
in my stash.

How to make the cover

Simply use Couture Creations Craft Knife to remove the inside from the cover of book

Layer over hand towel and adhere down with gel medium, allow to dry.
Emboss cream cardstock with  Moonlight berries folder and adhere to cover.
Cut Ivy set doilies from kraft cardstock and adhere to cover as pictured.

Paint with Gesso and allow to dry

Spray with glimmer mists, and use an alcohol pen to colour the berries on the Moonlit berries folder.

Rub gold paint over the raised areas. To add a sparkle to your cover using your finger smooch with Crystal Glitzin' Glamour Glitter Glue

Emboss white cardstock with A magical time embossing folder, trim out the greeting
you desire and adhere to cover with 3 D foam tape.
Rub over red ink and gold paint.

Create a flower
Step 1
Cut 2 of 3 sizes with the Roses die from red cardstock,
pierce a hole in the centre of each.
Snip around the edges to create petals.
Step 2
Gather together several stamens and glue together.
thread through the holes of the flower starting from the smallest
to the largest.
Step 3
Spray with water and scrunch up to create a flower.
Dry off to hold in shape.
Spray with adhesive and sprinkle with glitter.
Step 4
Adhere to cover along with assorted bits and pieces. Rub
extra elements with gold paint.

Cut Connexion die from green cardstock, spray
with adhesive and sprinkle with glitter.
attach around the rose flower.

For the Inside

Trim assorted cardstock to make a folded page that fits the inside of your book.
Create as many pages as you think you will need.
Dry brush gesso over the edges.

Tie bakers twine around the fold of each page. Align the knots
to the bottom of the fold.

Punch a hole into the spine of the book with a Crop-a-dile and
thread  organza ribbon through the hole and
through each strand of bakers twine and back through the hole so both ends
come through the hole.

Handy Hint set and eyelet over the hole to make it sturdy

Tie the ribbon into a bow on the outside of the spine.
This way you can add more pages as needed.

Use Couture Creations Vintage Christmas Paper Pad to
Decorate as desired with the ordinary and traditional things you do
each Christmas

Awesome Teachers Gift by Tracey Cooley

Hi Creators

Tracey here with another classroom creation... Every year I struggle with what to buy teachers for Christmas but find that this little box of goodies is a favourite of mine as it is somewhat useful.... I think!

I purchased this craft organizer from my LSS and filled it full of stationery items like paperclips, erasers, push pins etc and in the empty spots CHOCOLATE!
I then used some school pattern paper that I had in my stash to decorate the top of the container. Adhering it to the container with Couture Creations 18mm Double Sided Tape ( I love this wide tape for projects like this, it assures a really strong bond)

Using my Couture Creations Nesting dies I cut some random shapes from matching Pattern Papers... Victorian rectangle, circle and after printing a quote (I am a teacher what's your super power?) a scallop rectangle.

Ink edges if desired and place wherever you think they look good on.

To personalise my box of useful bits and bobs I have taken some chipboard letters and painted them black then let them dry... Then I have coated them with Couture Creations Glitzin Glamour Black and then mixed in a little of the Glitzin Glamour Crystalina for a bit of extra sparkle without over doing it, then let it dry,
***TIP: mixing your Glitzin Glamour colours together will give you different shades and some very pretty effects..
Once your Glitzin Glamour is completely dry coat with dimensional magic and let dry... For extra depth of field and ultra shine complete a second coat of Dimensional magic.

Once finished it will be a gift fit for any Super Teacher!

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year.
and don't forget to Keep on Creating!

Sweet Happy Birthday Card by Jo Piccirilli

Hello!  Hope you are all well and enjoying the lead up to Christmas.

Today I have a card to share with you using the new Large Joe's Garden embossing folder and a quick tutorial on how I achieved the colour on the card.

Here's the supplies you will need.

Using the Joe's Garden Embossing folder, emboss some white cardstock.

Next grab some Perfect Pearls and a Versamark inkpad along with a fine paint brush.

Very gently rub the Versamark inkpad over the raised part of the cardstock.  Be careful not to press to hard.

Very gently brush over the wet part with some Perfect Pearls and flick off the excess.

Once you have finished colouring your embossed card, give it a light mist with a water spritzer.  This will "set" the powder and give a soft and shimmery effect.  Its a little hard to see in the photo but trust me this really is shimmery!.

I have then added my Alycone Doily from the Royal Jewels Collection and also used my Circle and Scallop Circle Nesting dies for my sentiment to finish my card and of course some hand stitching with my paper piercer from the 3 in one Tool Set.

Thanks for stopping by and a very merry and blessed Christmas to you all.

Treasured Memories Canada | Bower Bird Mini Album Class with Pauline Pierantozzi

Couture Creations is very proud to be sponsoring Pauline's class

Date: January 5th
Time: 10am - 6pm
Cost: $100.00

Designed by Pauline Pierantozzi from Australia exclusively
Edmonton Canada
Class image
This 9x9 inch mini album takes memory keeping to the
extreme. The book is an eclectic collection of found and
treasured items, with over 12 pages of flaps, pockets and
divided pages to house oodles of photographs.

Combining the mini album concept with altered art is what
makes this album unique. The album is attached to a backing
board which resembles as picket fence so that it can be hung
like a piece of art on a wall or stand on an easel. For those
of you who are not sure about an album on a wall, then the
backing board can be removed and the album used on a coffee
table or bookshelf.

Using a plethora of paper craft products from Australia and
the USA, Pauline has created a showstopper album which
focuses on techniques using embossing, stamping, die cutting,
distressing and more. The Couture Creations paper line that is used in the album
will not be released until CHA 2014 – customers of Treasured
Memories will be the first in the world to use these products.

This full day workshop promises to be action packed, fast
paced and a whole lot of fun with an Aussie girl who has over
12 years of teaching experience in Australian stores and paper
craft events. Pauline is known for her compassionate, giving
and patient teaching style.

Bookings are essential and kits are strictly limited.

Join me on Sunday January 5th
for a full day workshop and
create your own Bower Bird Mini Album.
Pauline
I have been involved in the Australian paper
craft industry in the capacity of educator and
advocate for well over 12 years, resigning
from my teaching position to follow my
passion for all things paper. I live on a
Pineapple Plantation on the Sunshine Coast
in Queensland, Australia with my fabulous
husband Peter, and my two equally beautiful and talented
teenage daughters Jordan and Sidney. Family life and
everything it encompasses is important to me.

After being diagnosed with cancer late last year I was even
more passionate about being creative with my memories and
the near thought of not having those memories encapsulated
for my daughters frightened me and the importance of not only
memory keeping for myself but also educating others about its’
importance become my drive.

It is an absolute honour for me to travel to Canada and teach at
Treasured Memories – which I am hoping will be the beginning
of my international educator role. Being involved in the industry
for so long has afforded me many friendships with some of
the world’s most compassionate people and when Trisha
Ladouceur recommended me to her favourite scrapbooking
store I was humbled and honoured to be considered so highly.
I hope that you will join me on Sunday January 5th
Memories for a unique memory keeping project and altered art
project.

Easy Christmas Card by Bridget Louw

Hi Bridget here again with my last Christmas card for 2013. This one is super quick and easy to make thanks to the amazing range from Couture Creations products.

The card measures 5” high x 5.5” wide.

The first step is to cut some marker blending card with the largest die in the set C0723049 Nesting Dies: Victorian Rectangles

Stamp the Christmas image you have chosen on the shape and colour as desired. Put the image back into the die and lightly sponge/chalk all over. Once you take it out of the die again their will be a very pretty white border around it.

The next step is to cut the layer to go behind the stamped image. For this I put the die on my patterned paper and cut around it with a craft knife, that way you can create a shadow layer just slightly larger than the actual die cut.

Using some patterned paper I cut 2 layers for my card and punched them with a border punch.

I stamped a sweet Christmas sentiment onto a piece of card I had cut using
C0723050 Fleur de Frame Die Set.

Tie a piece of ribbon across your two panels after assembly, and add a bow.

Using C0721963 Foam mounting Tape I attached the stamped image and the sentiment to my card.

Super quick, super easy.
