Sympathy Card by Bridget Louw

Hi everyone, its Bridget here to share a Sympathy Card I made using an array of amazing products from Couture Creations.

I always seem to struggle to come up with Sympathy cards that are elegant, tasteful and not too bright and joyful. White cards are always a winner but not making them too plain is another challenge. The Couture Creations 5x7 embossing folders come in a huge variety of designs, making white cards look elegant with a minimum of effort. For this card I used the Couture Creations Timeless Embossing Folder, which is one of my all time favourites.

To make the card you will need to cut the following pieces out of your favourite white cardstock:
The card base measures 7” x 10” scored at 5”
The next layer measures 4 ¾” x 6 ¾”
The layer that gets embossed measures 6 ½” x 4 ½”.

For this card I used the Couture Creations Timeless Embossing Folder (CO723166), which is one of my all time favourites.

Using the Nesting Dies: Oval (C0723044) I cut the 2nd largest oval, out of the Nesting Dies: Scalloped Oval (C0723045) I cut the 2nd largest scalloped oval, both out of white cardstock.

Stamp the image you want to colour on the plain oval, using your preferred colouring method. I used Markers

Die cut the label for your sentiment using the smaller die from the Fleur de Frame set (C0723050) and stamp your sentiment.

Add a strip of white organza ribbon across the center of the embossed layer (there is a straight strip which embosses as part of the design)

Add some Foam mounting Tape (C0721963) to the back of the sentiment as well as to the scalloped oval, once you have adhered the plain oval to it. This adds dimension to your card. Assemble the card and voila, it’s ready to go.
