Flocked Thank You Card by Dana Tatar

Hi Couture Creations fans!  Dana here today sharing how to make your own flocked cardstock with a Couture Creations embossing folder and flocking powder.  The raised areas of the embossed cardstock provides a flat surface that is ideal for adding flock.

Step One: Emboss a piece of cardstock with a favorite Couture Creations embossing folder.  I used the Couture Creations Hepburn Embossing Folder from the Elegance Collection.

Step Two: Choose several colors of flocking powder.  Use a glue pad, craft glue or a double-sided adhesive to apply the flocking powder to the cardstock.

Step Three: Pour the flocking over the cardstock, pat down using a scrap piece of paper, and shake of the excess.  Repeat for the remaining colors of flock.

Step Four: Use a heat tool to set the flock for a more permanent finish.  Trim the excess cardstock from the flocked design.

Step Five: Mount the flocked cardstock onto a card base and embellish to finish.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I'd love to see your take on this technique! Try using a colored cardstock or patterned paper with flocking powder for a bolder look!  Please share your projects featuring Couture Creations products with us on the Couture Creations facebook page!

Couture Creations Ejection Foam Tutorial

Couture Creations Ejection Foam is thin adhesive foam that is attached to dies to help stop cardstock or paper sticking in the dies.

We have had many emails on how to use the ejection foam. Here is a quick tutorial by Kerrie Gurney showing you how easy it is to attach Couture Creations Ejection Foam to our dies.

Peel the backing paper off

place die blade side down on sticky side

place paper back on covering the die, this is to stop the ejection foam sticking to cutting plates.

place foam side up in die cutting machine

run through die cutting machine as you would any die

peel backing paper off and remove excess foam

place die foam side up on diecutting machine cover with cardstock and run through machine

remove excess cardstock

lift off die cut shape

pop out bits

and there you have a die cut without any drama.

Couture Creations recommends you use Couture Creations Ejection Foam in all of our Decorative & Doily Dies.

Tip - If you find the cardstock or paper starting to stick in the die, just add another layer of foam as the foam will flatten with excessive use.
