Faux Opals by Sue Smyth

This sweet little card is a cinch to make with Couture Creations dies and embossing folders and in the centre of the lacy flower there is a favourite thing I like to do, faux opals, you will never guess how they are made. They are a bit of work, but are great if you have a budget and don't want to spend too much on the card. I like to make up lots at once and keep them in my stash for later.

Faux Opal

Step 1
Cut a small circle with a die or punch from lightweight chipboard

Step 2
Ink all over with an ink that matches the Glitz N Glamour colour you choose, allow to dry.

Step 3
Coat with Glitz N Glamour, allow to dry

Step 4
The Couture Creations Tool is perfect to add shards of shaved ice into the Glitz N Glamour. Allow to dry.

Step 4
Coat with dimensional magic to create a nice dome. Allow to dry.

Handy Hint
If the dimensional magic cracks just re coat it, add as many layers as it needs to create a build up of layers and a dome like surface.
