"WHAT ARE THE CHURCH'S STANDARDS ON DATING?"

Warning these handouts are a little... (okay a lot) brighter and crazier than the handouts I usually create,
but I figured hey... they are all about dating! Why not make them a little more fun and funky!

LIFE IN THE MAKING: 26 WEEKS
Two things I am feeling at this very moment - extreme gratitude and a little fear.
I am now 26 weeks - 6.5 months pregnant.
Weeks 24-26 have been my biggest growth spurt yet.
I know, I think I look further along than I actually am.

I absolutely love feeling him move.
I feel like I am  starting to understand his little personality.
He already has a little sass to him - wonder where that comes from... hmmm.
He tends to kick the most on my upper left hand side.
I am loving having a "popped" belly
but starting to understand what it means to be "uncomfortable."
It seems like the pains are coming in waves.

I have now moved on to craving more of the sweets.
Poor guy already has a sweet tooth like his parents.

I am working on signing up for a birthing class.
I am actually somewhat nervous about it considering I was the girl
in health class who passed out watching, "The Miracle of Life."
Birthing class could be a real adventure for me.

Brett is really trying to be interested in all my jabber about birthing.
I love that man.

Something about watching your belly grow almost over night gives you the real labor jitters.

The baby decisions seem to be piling up and I seem to be stalling.
Only 2.5 months left and we haven't bought a thing in preparation for the baby.
Since my Mom {and baby consultant}
is in another state I am having a real hard time biting the bullet on decisions.
And part of me relishes in learning about everything and taking my time.

We decided to just walk through Babies R'Us this weekend and do a little research on car seats and strollers.
Oh if you could have seen the pair of us...
We were both breaking a massive sweat trying to figure out how to close a stroller...
then cheering for joy when we finally figured it out...
then putting the car seat in backwards in the stroller...
then dropping the car seat...
Oh yes. Our poor child.
I can only imagine the thoughts going through people's heads as they watched us struggle.
Hopefully we will figure it all out before he gets here.
Fingers crossed.

So with that being said...
Car seat advice?
Stroller advice? Is it worth it to get the travel pack?
Is it ok to buy a crib on craigslist?
How do you paint a crib with safe paint?
Oh my I have a lot to learn!

As I move into my third trimester I am continually reminded of how blessed I am to be here in this moment.
I know it's cliché, but we truly can't wait to meet our little bundle.

Acetate Card by Bridget Louw

Hi Bridget here, making an old favourite using acetate and some wonderful Couture Creations products.

Cut a piece of acetate 5.5” x 11” scored at 5 ½”
For the punched border you will need a piece 2 ½” x 5 ½” Score in half length-ways and punch with your favourite punch or decorative die

From the Nesting Dies: Scallop Square (C0723043) I cut the 2nd largest scalloped square from patterned paper twice. I stamped my image onto white card and cut out the second largest square from the Nesting Dies: Square (C0723042).

Colour the image with markers.
To assemble, layer the square onto the scalloped square using some Double Sided Tape (C0721984).
Because the card has an acetate base you will have to glue the 2nd scalloped square on the inside of the card to hide the back of the paper on the front.

Glue the punched border piece on the spine of the card.
Decorate the front of the card with Couture Creations adhesive backed rhinestones in a coordinating colour.

Voila...all done!

DEAR MISSIONARY: MY PURPOSE BOOKMARKS
ENGLISH, SPANISH, FRENCH

I will never forget the moment that I opened my mission calling.
It was a surreal and spiritual experience that honestly cannot be described.
I remember immediately feeling overwhelmed with love for the people I would be serving and gratitude for my Heavenly Father.
I remember the night I opened my calling, I decided to read in Preach My Gospel about "My Purpose " as a newly called missionary.
As I read it, it gave me the exact confidence I needed to hit the ground running
as I prepared to enter the MTC and later as I served in the mission field.

In Preach My Gospel every missionary's purpose is clearly outlined.
It is a powerful description.
Every full time missionary knows what their purpose is.
It gives them a goal, a direction, an understanding, and fills their hearts with love for the people they are serving.

I decided to create a bookmark that includes the Missionary Purpose from Preach My Gospel.
Again, it is such a powerful statement, and if you aren't familiar with it,
I would highly encourage you to take a look and read it over!
Because let's be honest --- it is not only applicable to missionaries out in the field!

I decided to branch out a bit and recreate these in a few different languages including English, Spanish, & French.
Each bookmark also includes a front and back that you can print off and stick together.
Again, I made these bookmarks with missionaries in mind, but honestly, the purpose is applicable to everyone!

You can find the downloads for each bookmark below!
Please enjoy as you read them over and print them out!

Country Time by Patti Hamil

Hello, it's Patti with another variation of a bloom made with the Daisy Nesting dies. There are so many different ways to customize hand-made blooms, I really enjoy playing around with them. This one turned out pretty cute! First, here is the finished page.

These flowers were all picked within a mile of my house while walking on a dirt road! I put them in a mason jar glass!!! Lots of perks to living in the country!!!

The first thing that I did was to use the Large Damask Flourish embossing folder from the Elegance Collection and emboss 2 pieces of white cardstock. I cut it into one long section and just embossed each end. I then used two colors of ink, one purple and one blue to get the desired color to match the background.

I also used a chipboard flourish from Imaginarium Designs. I used the same two colors of ink and then topped it off with a coat of the Glitzin Glamour in Crystalina. Such a pretty look!!!

Now for the blooms.  I used the Daisy Nestiing dies in the two smallest sizes. I used the largest of the two for the white outer blooms and the smaller for the yellow centers. I started by inking the edges after cutting them out.

I snipped into each one between each petal, make sure not to snip all the way to the center.

Next spritz with water and curl up as shown.

Let dry, and then carefully pull apart the petals with your piercing tool. Be careful not to tear the tiny petals.

Once unfolder, you can layer them and put them together!!!

After putting all four layers together this is how it will look. You can play around and curl, fluff or do whatever you want with the blooms!

Here you see them on the page, along with the little blue blooms that I used a tiny dot of the Gold Glitzin Glamour for the centers! You can also see where I embossed a piece of green cardstock with the Hyper Magical folder from the Fresh & Fun collection and cut out leaves from it.

Here are some closeups, here you see part of the chippie with the Glitzin Glamour and some of the tiny blooms.

A few more close-ups.
